APRIL FOOL AND PENNYS TOO

It started with a whisper...As we stood there shopping in the "purple" room, we were admiring the glass and unique items in this historic 1859 era building.

We heard a whisper... Each of us thinking it was the other, including the lady browsing next to us. We asked the other woman if she had said something, she assumed it was one of us. That is where it began. We spoke with the owner, Penny, and she graciously agreed to welcome us into her home and business for a full investigation.

As we began our research our excitement for this majestic building fully grew. Using our investigative equipment, we were able to confirm  some of the documented history we had learned about in our research. Audio recordings revealed atleast 2 different men, 3 woman and the children that use to live here. They allowed their voices, laughter and curiosity to come forward. Even the sound of an antique style toy was heard in various rooms and on different recorders. Dogs of the past also made their presence known on these recordings.

In awe of this grand establishment, which housed  a Bank, Saloon, Boxing establishment, Art Gallery and a Brothel,  also  a home to a large family with many children.

Our final conclussion

Our impression is that the Spirits are currently living in harmony with the present occupants and possibly enjoying the comings and goings of the daily activity of life at April Fools and Pennys Too.

    Most Recent Investigations

An impromptu outting found us exploring the history of our local military installations that housed soldiers, students and the present day state park. What began as a hike, turned into a journey of bygone days. Most hikers take water and trailmix. We find a K2, camera and audio equipment so much more satisfying,

Our K2 picked up small pegs of activity around the 3rd bunker maintenance location. Several EVP (electonic voice phenomena) recordings were recieved thru out each location. One spirit during a tour of the Barricks was directing us down a hall way. You can hear these when you visit our EVP page. Additional photos for these and other investigations are viewable on our Gallery page.

End of the World

We arrived here to do a mini investigation and found more than we expected. In the paranormal world, if there is no explanation than it is other than normal.

AKA  "Para Normal"

Visit the gallery to see the photo from End of the World that also appeared in 2 other photos at Fort Worden Bunkers 45 minutes later. These 2 locations are a couple of miles apart. Many other pictures were taken in between this phenomena. Photos were confirmed untouched and unexplainable by a Navy Military Veteran and a Professional film maker.

Fort Warden Bunkers and Barracks

Fancy Feathers and Clothes Horse

As paranormal investigations go, Fancy Feathers and Clothes Horse took on a personality as unique as the stores themselves. From a wild goose chase of leads that brought us to the doorsteps, to the mirrored way that the investigation unfolded before us, it was from start to finish a challenge and adventure we will not soon forget.

As you listen to our clips of the EVP sessions, you will meet children, women and men, some of which speak in foreign language and dialect. When you watch the video of the pink coat turning by itself, know that we were upstairs doing an EVP session at that time. With the history of this building from its beginnings to present, a Hotel was the original intentions but housed amid the brick has been a saloon, jewelry store and pharmacy, yet the current Fancy Feathers and Clothes Horse remain a strong part of our community today.

On your next shopping excursion, be sure to stop by and say hi to the local spirits that live among the clothing racks. Bring by some candy for the little ones, and don't step on the chicken!

What's Cooking!

Redman Cemetery

Halloween night, 2014,  we wanted to pay respects and visit one of our local cemeteries. We chose the Redman due to its impressive history and compassion of our local townsmen who offered free buriel and services to those who had no family or the down trodden that could not afford a proper buriel. The Redman Society took care of these and so many other community needs. A simple wood sign stands today to mark a piece of our towns history and grace. A connection was felt with a piece of our history and part of our past,  that will not soon be forgotten.

A night of frolic, dancing and song! That was our experience during the Whats Cooking Investigation. Our guest investigator for this evening was one of our local store proprietors Nicole Boulter and can she belt out a tune! The photo to the left shows a gentlemens offering of cards and whiskey. Nicole and Stephanie enjoyed a shot of whiskey during a toast with our resident spirits.  As the evening unfolded under this great historical city, and in the main store, spending time in the tunnels, and connecting with our hosts from beyond was succesful, as you will hear in the EVPs and see in our photos.  Thank you to Viveca for the bottles and items you supplied us and for the knowledge and history you afforded our team.

The Starrett Mansion

Wow! We had an awsome time at this beautiful 1889 Victorian Mansion, located in Port Townsend, Washington. This 5,796 square foot home was built by George Starrett for his true love Ann Starrett. In present day it is a lovely hotel and Boutique.  To walk into this mansion is like going back in time, from the  wall paper to the furnishings.  Truly amazing.

Beleive it or not, this masion has been said to be haunted for many years, when you speak to the locals it is one of the first haunted places they talked about.  The night we did this investigation, we also investigated the Red Man cemetery, yes that's the one. The           investigation was Halloween Night!

This magnificent masion did not let us down, from the remodeled basement to the grand stairscase, to the third floor. There is a feeling here of days gone by and the spirits still roaming amongst us.

Walker-Ames Mansion

Port Gamble, Washington

Our investigation at this beautiful Mansion in Port Gamble, the Walker-Ames, was one of our  most exciting investigations.  We pulled out all of the stops and brought every piece of equipment we could find.  We are so thankful for the  people of Port Gamble for welcoming us and giving us this wonderful opportunity.

To tell you a little about our adventure there, I will begin right here.

There  were the three of us alone in this historic mansion that is reported to be haunted, we spent the entire night there. We pulled out our sleeping bags and brought our port-a-potty, set up our equipment and got started.

This historic mansion did not let us down!

The air was intense and full of electricty. We had many personal experiences and captured some awesome evidence.

I can't say enough about this house and all of it's spectral residence. We hope to return again some day for another outstanding investigation.

Getables Shop,

Port Townsend, WA

Dungeness School House

Sequim, Washington

With the enthusiasm and excitement our team was greeted with from the owner, Tim and his crew, this encouraged and motivated us to find out  if this fun store had any "after hours" residents. In this challenge, the 1st obsticle we encountered was the electrical refridgeration system that did not want to assist our endeavor. That being stated, the EVP sessions done  had minimul encounters. however...we do have some exciting footage from our surveillance cameras in the basement and EVPs in the same area.

This investigation has become more than a school house and piece of history to our team. We came away from this historic building with new friends, and a new appreciation for preservation efforts that volunteers commit themselves too. The love, care and attention put forth into this prestine school shows inside and out from the dedication applied by these volunteers. Being the 1st Team to officially investigate here, there was an immediate sense of excitement and expectation that the Dungeness School House met and exceeded. Amazing EVPs, a photo of a dark apparition and video footage to start some great conversations.

Sequim Museum

Sequim, Washington

This investigation was not only interesting, but we learned so much about the history of the Sequim area. The investigation was very special to us, we had guest with us and the first time ever a man at our investigation, a new one for Red Ball.  We picked up several undeniable EVP's and interesting video. Most of all we made some wonderful new friends from the Museum.

If you are ever in Sequim, Washington please visit this museum, you will be very impressed as we were. Thank you to all in Sequim who made this possible.

Kabin in the Woods,

No Where, Washington

As investigations come and go, this one will live in our hearts and memories for a lifetime. To go from musty, dusty old buildings to a family home filled with memories, and love is such a new adventure for us. We came into this with open eyes, and left with filled hearts.  Thanks to the graciousness of this family, we were allowed to share some of our findings with you here. Being able to present our findings to them, and their openness and positve feedback, moves us forward, striving to continue on our journey in the paranormal research world.

Manresa Castle

Port Townsend, Washington

Salon Delucca,

Port Townsend, Washington

This investigation was more historical for our team than most, due to the history and legend of the Eisenbeis family's  significants to our town. There are alot of "Urban Legends" surrounding the Castle, some based on historical documentation and some that have slipped the tongue from one generation to the next. Some EVPs give credit to those legends, and some are left to your interpetation to define the mystery of the Castle. Each investigator had a personal paranormal encounter that could not be defined or explained. Therefore, paranormal must be the word to attach itself to the Manresa Castle Investigation.

Amidst the Port Townsend uptown society, you will find a miriad of shops along side this upbeat beauty salon. Claims, as described by the shop owner and employees seemed to be minimal... however, we came away with so much more than expected. This actual building was built in 1871 and has seen many changes and many people come and go. Some residents from the past still reside here and they like to make their presence known, especially in inconvenient ways for the shop owner. Stop by and visit Lisa or any of the other talented ladies and gentlemen that work there. Get a makeover, haircut or just stop to say hi,  and maybe you'll have an experience you never expected.
